Homeland and Aisle50: Load Deals to Your Card!

Aisle50 is a deals site specific to Homeland (and select other) grocery stores.  When you purchase a deal, it is automatically linked to your Homeland card.  So, for example, if you take advantage of the cheese deal, you pay the $4 for the deal on the Aisle50 website, then head to the store, pick up four packages of cheese and when you checkout using your Homeland One, the deal will deduct $8 (or the price of the cheese) from your total automatically!

If you've not signed up for Aisle50 before, when you head over and create your Aisle50 account, you will automatically get a FREE 2-Liter of Coke loaded to your Homeland One card.  Which means the next time you're shopping at Homeland, you can add a bottle of Coke to your cart and the price will be deducted when you scan your card at checkout!  Talk about a deal!

SavingStar: Link your new Homeland card!

Have you signed up for SavingStar yet?  If so, be sure to link your new Homeland card (like the one pictured above) to your SavingStar account, so you don't miss out on money, like I have!

If you don't know what I'm talking about, keep reading!

SavingStar is essentially a FREE website for digital coupons where you can link the loyalty cards for your local stores (such as CVS or Homeland) to your account and add coupons to your card with the simple click of a button (you can even use their mobile app for this!).  When you purchase the item, rather than receive cents off at the register, you will earn that money in your SavingStar account (like cash-back), which you can then cash in for gift cards or cash.  It's so easy and a great way to still coupon without pulling out the scissors!

Aisle50: FREE Coke at Homeland, plus other great deals!

If you've been to Homeland recently, you might have discovered they are changing their Homeland One Cards and you may have had to switch out your old one.  One perk of this new system is their new cooperation with Aisle50 - a daily deals site for your groceries!

An example of the kinds of deals at Aisle50 is their current promotion of $3 for $6 worth of Oreos.  What happens is this: you purchase this deal for $3.  The deal automatically loads to your new Homeland One card.  When you're in the store you purchase $6 worth of Oreos and when your card is scanned at the register, $6 will be deducted from your total.

So, right now, Oreos are on sale at Homeland for $2.50 each.  You could buy the Aisle50 deal and then head to Homeland and buy three packages of Oreos for a total of $7.50.  When you check out and scan your card, you will only pay $1.50.  When you consider you paid $3 for the deal, you will have paid a total of $4.50 for three packages of Oreos - that's $1.50 per package!

But what if your item isn't on sale right away?  That's ok - you have a little time to use your discount.  The Oreo deal, for example, doesn't expire until November 30!

PLUS if you head over and create your Aisle50 account, you will automatically get a FREE 2-Liter of Coke loaded to your Homeland One card.  Which means the next time you're shopping at Homeland, you can add a bottle of Coke to your cart and the price will be deducted when you scan your card at checkout!  Talk about a deal!

Homeland: Cheap Chicken!

Although I'm not regularly sharing the latest Homeland deals anymore (remember to head to Simple Saving Savvy or Consumer Queen to check out the latest!), I still want to share a deal I've been pumped about this week.  With our efforts to get more protein in our diet, finding meat at a good price is vital.  This week at Homeland you can score the following deal (Note: The following deals are only valid through tomorrow [08/02] - so hurry if you're interested!):

Pilgrim's Pride Whole Fryer Chickens - $0.79/lb
Use $1/1 Pilgrim's Pride Chicken
Final Price: Varies, but I got a 5lb. chicken for a little over $2!

I then spent the weekend roasting two of these chickens (in my microwave using my Deep Covered Baker from The Pampered Chef, so I didn't have to heat up the kitchen with my oven for hours - contact me if you're interested in owning one of these amazing pieces of kitchenware!) so I could have shredded chicken ready for meals later in the week (to top salads, go in soups, casseroles, whatever!) and I also plan to make chicken broth with the leftover pieces (head to The Lavender Tub to learn how!).

Now, if you're not into a lot of work for your meat, Homeland is also in the throes of a four-day meat sale, including boneless, skinless chicken breasts for $1.49/lb - these aren't Pilgrim's Pride, so you can't use your coupon, but it's still a great price!

Homeland Deals: 6/1 - 6/8

As you may know, I am not the only blog on this world wide web which features Homeland Coupon Match-Ups.  There are a few I used to refer to before I began matching my own deals - ones I still refer to in order to be sure I did not miss anything.  The reason I began posting deals on my own was for my friends who may not know of the other sites and would be more likely to be encouraged in their couponing if they found the deals on my site directly.  However, after spending 2-4 hours every Wednesday afternoon pulling together and detailing Homeland deals, I have made the executive decision to put off posting these deals on my site for the time-being.  I feel I have been falling behind in many areas lately and out-sourcing this aspect of the blog seems to be the most logical way for me to re-claim some time in my schedule.

Knowing there are others out there who do this every week (and tend to be more thorough) who also receive compensation for doing so (via advertising and sponsorship), I feel confident in knowing my readers will still be able to find their Homeland deals every week.  I will continue to post links to these sites weekly and, also, post any deals not previously listed elsewhere (though these won't typically be often because, as mentioned, these women are very thorough).

My two favorite sites are:
Simple Saving Savvy- Amanda Brackney runs this blog as well as an endeavor she calls Couponing for Christ.  I recommend her because of her encouragement of the ethical use of coupons, as well as her thorough research before posting any deals - being sure they are ethical and valid.

Consumer Queen - Run by Melissa Garcia, who also recently began writing a weekly couponing article for The Oklahoman (which runs in the Life section on Wednesdays), she has recently begun posting deals as early as Monday - which is great for planning ahead.  What keeps me from favoring this site is the fact that Melissa is not the only contributor and I have noticed a lack of quality control (sometimes deals are listed which are not valid or amounts are not accurate).  But for early planning, this is your site.

Please let me know if you have any comments or concerns.

Homeland Deals: 5/25 - 5/31

I haven't been to Homeland within the past week, but I have heard reports they are now asking couponers to tape their coupons to the corresponding items (they provide the tape).  Keep this in mind when you're headed to the store - plan for a little extra time and effort and always maintain a positive attitude!  Remember, this probably isn't any more fun for the cashier than it is for us, but staying upbeat will just make everything go that much smoother and reflect Christ to those around us.  Always remember that no deal is worth tarnishing the name of Christ through negativity, anger or ranting.

If you are new here or need a refresher, you can refer to my post on Coupon Lingo to gain a better understanding of what you see below.

Now, on with the deals!  Keep in mind, these are my favorite deals for the week.  If you notice your best deal is missing, please leave a comment so we can all share :)

Homeland Deals: Taking a Little Break

I seem to have disposed of my grocery budget a little early this week, so I won't be doing a big Homeland trip.  Also, I didn't see anything I just had to have in this week's ad.  As such, I will be taking a brief hiatus from posting the deals this week - but rather than leave you hanging, I would like to refer you to my favorite match-up site - the one I always check to see if I've missed something.

If you're in desperate need of this week's deals, please head on over to Simple Saving Savvy and she will help you out!

    Homeland: Cheap Lunch Finds

This evening, while shopping at Homeland, I discovered in the lunch meat section new Oscar Mayer products with $1 off coupons right on the packaging (peelies).  Typically, peelies are specifically marked as "Do Not Double" but these peelies do not.

The products included are Oscar Mayer DeliFresh Combos, which were on sale for $3.29 - these packages, which include two flavors of deli meat (such as ham and turkey), cost only $1.29 after coupon - and Oscar Mayer Sandwich Combos (much like a grown up lunchable), which only cost $2.50, making them only $0.50 after coupon!

Check your Homeland to see what you can find!
