Homeland: Cheap Chicken!

Although I'm not regularly sharing the latest Homeland deals anymore (remember to head to Simple Saving Savvy or Consumer Queen to check out the latest!), I still want to share a deal I've been pumped about this week.  With our efforts to get more protein in our diet, finding meat at a good price is vital.  This week at Homeland you can score the following deal (Note: The following deals are only valid through tomorrow [08/02] - so hurry if you're interested!):

Pilgrim's Pride Whole Fryer Chickens - $0.79/lb
Use $1/1 Pilgrim's Pride Chicken
Final Price: Varies, but I got a 5lb. chicken for a little over $2!

I then spent the weekend roasting two of these chickens (in my microwave using my Deep Covered Baker from The Pampered Chef, so I didn't have to heat up the kitchen with my oven for hours - contact me if you're interested in owning one of these amazing pieces of kitchenware!) so I could have shredded chicken ready for meals later in the week (to top salads, go in soups, casseroles, whatever!) and I also plan to make chicken broth with the leftover pieces (head to The Lavender Tub to learn how!).

Now, if you're not into a lot of work for your meat, Homeland is also in the throes of a four-day meat sale, including boneless, skinless chicken breasts for $1.49/lb - these aren't Pilgrim's Pride, so you can't use your coupon, but it's still a great price!
