Oklahoma City: Drive-In!

This is one of my fun summer tips for cheap movies and a lot of fun!  If you live in the Oklahoma City area, head to the Winchester Drive-In!  They show two movies every night (three on weekends) for only $6/person*!  And they're always recent releases.  For example, tonight, we're heading out to see Kung Fu Panda 2 and X-Men: First Class (and if we were super night owls, we could stay for Thor, but considering it starts at 1:35am, that's a no).  The first movie starts at 9:10, but the gates open at 7:15 and people do get there early!  It's fun to bring dinner with you, either fast food or sandwiches in your cooler and just tailgate it.  Also, bring your own snacks for the movie, if you want (or you can just buy them there).

We also bring cards and other travel games to pass the time until the movie starts - we're bringing bubbles tonight for little girl.  We're also taking my sister-in-law's Jeep so the kids can go to sleep in the back when they're ready.

It's tons of fun and it's definitely not just for dating teens (I've never seen a make-out session, but I've also never been too far back in the rows of cars).

Final tip: Bring your own toilet paper - the women's restroom tends to run out toward the end of the night.

*It's $6 per adult, $3 per child and FREE for kids 2 and under.
