OK Tax Free Shopping On-Line + 20% off at Kohl's
I am not native to Oklahoma and, as a college student, I was never in the state during the first weekend of August which is, as we all know by now, Tax-Free Weekend for back-to-school shopping. While this concept was entirely new to me, I learned quickly that it was a weekend to avoid any kind of shopping. Because I'm not crazy and, while I love to save money, I hate crowds (ok, I'm teasing, if you love Tax-Free Weekend, you're not crazy!).
If you're more like me and prefer to stay in this weekend, you might be as surprised as I am to learn Tax-Free weekend applies to on-line shopping as well. While there are many on-line retailers that routinely do not charge tax, most who represent brick and mortar stores DO still charge sales tax. But if you live in Oklahoma, that may not be true this weekend. I have already received a number of promotional e-mails from various retailers indicating Oklahoma customers will not be paying tax this weekend in-stores and on-line! Woohoo!
So, if you're the kind of shopper who prefers to avoid the crowds and shop in your pj's, you can enjoy Tax-Free Weekend, as well. Now, as an Oklahoma newbie(ish), I can't say if this automatically applies to ALL on-line retailers, but it's worth a shot.
And to put the icing on the cake, if one of your Tax-Free destinations is Kohl's (whether on-line or in-store) you can use this coupon to save an extra 20% off your entire purchase!
